We are looking for individuals who are multi-skilled in commercial and highway heavy construction tasks, and who thrive in a team-oriented environment. Our company policy requires that all potential field employees have a valid Minnesota driver’s license and reliable transportation.  Construction experience is necessary for our heavy equipment operator, truck driver, paving, and laborer positions.

These are physically demanding jobs that require safe work practices for the protection of yourself and others. For the safety of our sites and everyone on them, a pre-employment drug screening is required.

CONSTRUCTION DISPATCH / FIELD ADMINISTRATOR

 Are you self-motivated, energetic & a meticulous task master?

Standard Contracting Inc. is seeking someone with a strong drive to achieve, who is also precise in their attention to small details; someone who possesses the confidence to complete the tasks required of a Dispatch and Field Administrator.

Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Office and have an aptitude for learning and utilizing scheduling and tracking software.

This position requires independent thinking and decisiveness, as well the ability to multitask and manage schedule changes and stressful situations.

Job duties include:

  • Scheduling personnel, equipment and material deliveries to job sites
  • Regulating overtime and female/minority workforce compliance goals
  • Interacting with Forepersons, Project Managers and Customers

CONSTRUCTION FOREMAN

Standard Contracting Inc. seeks a resourceful leader who can handle change and pressure on projects that have deadlines and goals.  Must respond to situations and problems positively and make decisions in an objective and logical manner with little regard for emotional drama.

You are an intense, driving, leader with a strong sense of urgency to get things done and are able to keep the pressure on your crew to meet your high expectations for production while completing the work the right way.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS  INCLUDE:

  • Experience and knowledge of MNDOT pay items
  • Skills in small equipment operation
  • Class A CDL license
  • Current health card
  • CPR/First Aid and OSHA 30 certifications
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specs, calculate quantities for materials, and set and read grade stakes
  • Familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office, and Apple iPad

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Are you an experienced, energetic, dependable operator who takes pride in your work? Are you self-motivated and able to perform your job with little oversight? Can you operate a skid loader and mini-excavator with skill and precision, and still meet an aggressive production schedule?

Standard Contracting, Inc. seeks positive minded operators with a can-do attitude. This position requires working in a safe and professional manner.

Must have experience in dirt/erosion control work, have a Class A CDL or the ability to get one, Health Card, CPR/First Aid certification, and an OSHA 10 certification.

CONSTRUCTION LABORER

Are you a self-reliant, proactive and dependable person who takes pride in your work?

Do you have a strong drive, and do you complete your assignments with precision?

Standard Contracting Inc. is seeking someone like you; someone who is a team player that will thrive under a little pressure, enjoy predictable and repetitive job tasks, and maintain an optimistic attitude. More specifically, we are looking for a skilled journeyperson laborer, familiar with earthwork, who has experience in backfilling, checking and setting grades, and erosion control and maintenance.

Required qualifications include:

  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to learn, retain and follow instructions
  • Ability to work in a productive manner at a pace set by your Foreperson and Leadperson

LANDSCAPE LABORER

Are you a dependable, hardworking team player that is interested in working in the construction field?

Are you able to learn quickly, retain information, follow instructions and work in a production-oriented manner?  Standard Contracting wants someone who will do what is asked of them, be self-sufficient after knowing what to do, and have enough drive to get work done in a timely manner and with precision.

Standard Contracting Inc. is seeking someone like you to join our erosion control team as a Landscape Laborer and assisting in the installation and maintenance of erosion control, landscape restoration, sod and hydroseeding.

This is outside work in all types of environments, conditions, weather, and seasons. Regular and timely attendance is essential.  Valid Driver’s license is required.


CONSTRUCTION LEAD PERSON

Are you an energetic leader who can work cooperatively with the Project Foreperson yet handle situations and problems on your own if need be to get the job done?

Are you a logical thinker who can actively work with and direct the activities of the crew, setting and enforcing a production oriented pace while maintaining high quality of work?

Standard Contracting Inc. seeks an experienced right hand who can lead the crew, organize materials and schedule in the Forepersons absence, and support the Foreperson in meeting daily production goals.
