The I-MN-341 project was a cured-in-place pipe (CIPP) lining project located in the Minneapolis lakes area along Lake Calhoun Parkway, William Berry Parkway and King’s Highway. Included in this project was a new CIPP installation through the Roberts Bird Sanctuary.
This project presented the challenge of working in an environmentally sensitive area around Lake Calhoun, including the restoration and specialty seeding of the nearby bird sanctuary after the installation of the new pipe lining. Under the scrutiny of environmental organizations, the Minneapolis Park Board, bird lovers and neighbors, Standard Contracting successfully navigated through the restoration work and the installation of a bilateral gravel trail through the bird sanctuary with minimal disruption to all, including, most importantly, the birds.
